The University of Kansas Cheerleaders offer a variety of clinic formats to best suit your needs. All our clinics are taught by experienced KU cheerleaders and coaches, and the clinics are small enough that you'll get plenty of individual instruction.
Pre-Tryout Open Gym
G-Force (map) is having an open gym Friday May 2, 7:00pm-9:00pm for $5 and a G-Force waiver (pdf).
KU Summer Cheer Camps
Our cheerleading camps are open to full squads, partial squads, and individuals grades 6 to 12. The KU cheerleaders and coaches teach all-girl stunts, tumbling, cheers, and sidelines in addition to some fun games and activities. Campers stay in air-conditioned Naismith Hall with meals provided.
For more information, see the KU Spirit Camps web site.

Spirit Day
KU "Spirit Day" is a chance for cheerleaders ages 6 to 18 to cheer at a KU football game in Memorial Stadium! The 2007 Spirit Day was September 22. Check back here in summer 2008 for info on the 2008 Spirit Day.
Open Gyms
Open gyms are another way to work on your skills. Some good cheer open gyms in eastern Kansas are listed below. (Note that these open gyms aren't run by or affiliated with KU.) Please let me know if any of this information is incorrect!
- G-Force / LGA East (map) in Lawrence Mondays 8:00-10:00pm ($3 - Many of our squad members attend this open gym.)
- CAGE in Topeka Tues 7:00-9:00pm ($5)
- KGDC in Olathe Wed 7:30-9:30pm ($7)
- Mercury in Riverside, MO Thu 8:00-10:00pm ($5)
- Dynomite Athletics in Topeka (map) Wed 7:00-9:00pm ($3) and Sat 11:00am-2:00pm ($3)
KU Skills Clinics
Our skills clinics are 2½-hour informal clinics taught by the KU cheerleaders and coaches at a cost of $30 per participant. Our skills clinics are targeted toward high schoolers (college students are welcome too), and we focus mainly on coed stunting, standing tumbling, and a little bit of pass tumbling. Note that these clinics aren't a part of KU's tryouts — they're simply to improve your cheer skills and they're open to anyone.
Next clinic date: Probably late summer or early fall.
Private Clinics
At KU's private cheer clinics, the KU Cheerleaders work one-on-one with your squad. We customize the material to your interests and skill level, and we even teach at your preferred location!
To schedule a KU private clinic at a cost of $75/participant/day, contact Cat Jarzemkoski at:
catj@ku.edu or 785-864-3002. For private stunt lessons, contact me (Corey) at cheer4ku@ku.edu and I can put you in touch with some of our guys.
